Selling my Dobro Hound Dog Deluxe resonator guitar with that unmistakable, unique sound only a Dobro resonator has. Great for blues, country, bluegrass, and whatever else turns your crank. It sounds unlike any acoustic guitar with soundhole. Great acoustic sound on its own. Also fitted with Fishman resonator pickup to plug direct into amp--even run through some pedals first.
Round neck allows player's choice of standard right-hand fretting or delta-style slide. (Two versions of this guitar are available instore: round neck and square neck. Square neck generally used in open tunings for slide only as it is not entirely suitable for right-hand fretting.)
Aluminum resonator cone and spider bridge, ebony saddle with maple base, Grover tuners, and Fishman resonator pickup. Body top, back, and sides are laminated flame maple in Vintage Brown with black binding. Fan-style cover plate and tailpiece are nickel-plated. The guitar is in exceptionally good condition with virtually no fret wear. From smoke-free home.
Dobro Hound Dog Deluxe Long & McQuade's price, new: $797 tax in, not in stock. My price, barely used: $475, available today. (I'm selling the Deluxe model with Fishman pickup. Both Island L+M stores sell the cheaper non-Deluxe model without pickup for $580 tax in.)
This guitar new from store does not include case or gigbag. I will include a very scrappy and used "semi-hardshell" case for free.
My photos show the Dobro with cover plate removed. I prefer the look and lighter weight. It does not affect tone. Of course, I will re-install the cover plate (12 small screws) before viewing and sale.
